“My experience at Glory Reins has been fabulous! Dede is an excellent trainer and has the patience of a saint! I have learned technical riding skills but more importantly have learned life skills. These skills help me in all areas of my “other” (outside of the barn) life. Equestrian skills have made me a better mother, a better leader and many other qualities have improved that I couldn’t have foreseen. It truly is amazing and I credit Dede Holms and Glory Reins for bringing about these improvements in my life.” Mary Pat Paulson
“What a great team you have assembled to share your gift of working with kids and horses.
My daughter loves going to Castle Rock and seeing you and your helpers. She has learned so much from you all. She has gained so much confidence from her lessons. We are looking forward to many days hanging out with you and your crew. “ Mom of 13 year old girl
“Dede, you are giving children the joy of learning to ride and care for horses.” Mom of 14 year old girl
“I want to thank you for all you have done for me. I have loved every minute I spend with you and the hoses at the barn. Since you have taken me “under your wing” I feel so much better about myself and am so much more confident in everything I do away from the barn.”
“Working with you and the horses has given me confidence in my everyday life, to do things I used to be to shy to do, or too intimidated to do. I no longer avoid stuff, which I once was afraid of. “
“The riding and exercises we do have also helped me with my dyslexia. I can remember struggling with a few things when I first started with you, now I no longer worry it, because they are not a problem anymore.” 14 year old teen
“Thank you, and everyone at Glory Reins. This has been about the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Thank you for the opportunity to learn and grow, and I hope we can continue for a long, long time.”
“Dede had invited me to join the lesson and I learned a lot in that first lesson. Taking lessons with Dede has completely changed my lack of riding style for the better. It has deepened my bond with my horse and created a better horse and rider duo. My horse no longer just runs off with me and has made me a more confident rider because of that. Although its work she makes it fun. I look forward to her lessons and working with the kids and my horse loves it as well. I had never been taught that my horse needed time to process cues I told him to do and that I didn’t have to use just my hands. I’ve learned how to adjust my body position and give cues with my body then my hands. I’ve seen a huge change in my horse, although his favorite thing is still trail rides.”
19 year old female
“We want you to know how much we appreciate all you efforts and hard work; we truly can’t thank you enough. Beyond the technical equestrian skills, our daughter has learned being your student and working with you, she has developed confidence and life skills that are having a tremendous positive effect on her life outside the rink”.
“Dede has been very motivational in helping me learn how to ride horses and improving my horsemanship. I always feel I have learned something new with every lesson I take with her” 29 year old male
“Thank you for all the horseback riding lessons on Jack and Chica. They are so
fun to ride. I love going to the camps you run. They are so fun. You make me feel free, fun, and special. You are kind, patient, and smart.” 10 year old girl
“Horseback riding means so much to me! Since I came here I have had better posture which makes me feel more proud of myself since I used to hunch. I had an awesome time learning how to become better at horseback riding.” 14 year old girl
“Thank you for the opportunity for my daughter and I to breathe some fresh air. Being a little city sick it's always nice to be surrounded by such beauty and precious animals. Thank you for helping her to blossom in her confidence and bond with the horses... she always has such a great time. I also appreciate how you will take the opportunity to tie in life lessons with the technical lessons... what a blessing that is :)”
Mom of 14 year old daughter
“Horseback riding allows me to experience the freedom that I cannot achieve while on my own two feet. 11 year old girl
Our daughter has learned so much. I couldn’t have asked for a better trainer for her. Your confidence and leadership with the horses is truly remarkable. I also appreciate how safety comes first at Glory Reins. I feel at peace knowing that when I drop Erika off to a lesson that caution, wisdom and respect are first and foremost. Mom of 11 year old girl
“I can't thank you enough for all of this. I can't imagine doing this without you and you caring enough about me to want to make sure that I'm safe when I ride.”
“You are so respectful of her and patient with her and you make her feel whole. “
“Thank you for the joy you bring her as you empower her with your confidence. It in turn brings joy to our family. Mom of 14 year old girl
“I really want to thank you for everything you have done for me and everyone else. I appreciate you giving me an opportunity to do this. I really love working with horses and working with you. To me Glory Reins is a place to have fun and be around nice and caring people. Glory Reins always gives me an amazing feeling when I help and watch little kids have fun and really bond with the horses. Glory Reins is a special place and you make it all happen. Thank you for everything you have done for everyone. You are a very kind person wtih a warm heart and you are a pleasureable person to be around. “
14 year old girl
“Thank you for teaching me to ride horses. It was a really fun experience. It was really fun when you taught me how to ride on my own. I hope I can go back to Horse Camp and that it can even be longer!” 13 year old girl
“Thank you for the opportunity my daughter had to participate in Horse Camp! She said it was the best week of her life! She loved being around all the horses and the kids and especially liked riding Nickers. It really boosted her confidence to ride on her own and learn to handle such a big, beautiful animal. She said that when she turns sixteen she would rather ride a horse everywhere instead of driving a car. Thank you for all the time and instruction you gave and for passing on your love of horses. It meant a lot to both of us.” Mother of 13 year old daughter
Thank you for training me!” 9 year old boy
