My daughter (age 10) rode for 2 yrs. at Heavenly Ponies, under Alix Lawson's instruction. Her training was the perfect balance of positive encouragement and pushing the students to their potentials. Her lessons were filled with horse knowledge, hands-on with the horses/ponies in all grooming and health aspects, horse safety, life lessons and values, vocabulary lessons, all things relevant and helpful to the growth and development of my daughter. My daughter gained confidence and overall strength in all areas of horsemanship. Alix has been an inspirational role model for my daughter. We love her dearly and highly recommended Heavenly Ponies. You will not be disappointed!!!
My son (age 5) has been taking lessons at 'Heavenly Ponies' for a couple of months and loves every moment. I can not recommend 'Ms Alix' highly enough - her ability to communicate the details of excellent riding technique, posture, control, is outstanding. She is marvelous with children, and teaches SO much more than just how to ride - responsibility, self-discipline, safety, caring awareness, respect, kindness. I have learnt more watching, and listening to, my son's riding lessons than I ever did during years of taking lessons myself! The ponies are exceptionally well cared for and everyone at the stables is courteous, enthusiastic and helpful. Really, you couldn't hope to find a better learning experience. If you would like your child to learn true horsemanship and delight in the process, I recommend 'Heavenly Ponies' without reservation, other than I am loath to share this delightful oasis!
